This document describes which data the Risk Segment Chrome extension (hereafter the “extension”) processes, where that data is stored, and the rights available to users. The extension is a decision-support tool for corporate customers and runs inside the user’s browser.
No data is collected
No personal data, page content or usage logs are transmitted to Risk Segment servers. There is no user database maintained by the extension.
The extension does not require account creation, sign-up or authentication. It runs independently on the user’s device.
Data stored locally
Some configuration data is stored locally on the user’s device; the decision rule set is managed on Risk Segment servers and cached on the extension side.
- Company code — stored only on the device, used to associate the extension with the licensed organisation.
- Decision rule set — managed on Risk Segment servers; periodically fetched (by default daily) and cached locally in
chrome.storage.local. - Extension preferences — stored only on the device (appearance and shortcut settings).
Data stored on the device is not backed up to external servers and is not synchronised across devices. Uninstalling the extension deletes all related local data.
Page content does not leave the browser
The financial-source content read for decision making is processed inside the user’s browser and is not transmitted off-screen. No part of the page content is sent to Risk Segment servers, third-party cloud services or any external analysis pipeline.
The resulting decision (eligible / not eligible / segment) is shown only on the user’s screen; no background copy is transmitted or retained.
No third-party analytics or tracking
The extension does not include advertising networks, behavioural analytics, heatmaps, cross-site trackers or cookie-based marketing tools. Components such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel are not present.
For the extension’s continued operation and error management, a limited number of usage records may be sent to Risk Segment servers. Each record contains only the company code, extension version, and timestamp; it does not include user identity, page content, financial values, or decision output.
Permissions and their justifications
Within the Chrome Web Store, the extension requests only the permissions required for its function. Each permission serves a clearly defined purpose.

The extension does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, browsing history or download history permissions.
Data sharing and sale
Risk Segment does not sell, lease or share user data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data stored locally on the device (company code, extension preferences) is not externally accessible. Decision rule sets are managed on Risk Segment servers; however, they contain no personal data or page content of users.
No database exists that could be disclosed in response to a lawful request, since no user data is collected through the extension.
Use by children
Risk Segment is a B2B tool intended for corporate use and is not directed at users under the age of 18.
User rights
User rights under Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, no. 6698) and applicable regulations are reserved. Because the extension processes no personal data on the server side, deletion, rectification or portability requests are handled directly on the device:
- Local data can be cleared from the extension settings.
- Removing the extension via Chrome deletes all related local data.
- Rights requests may be sent to the contact address below.
Policy updates
This policy may be updated where required. For material changes, the effective date above is refreshed and a new version number is published. Where a future release of the extension changes its functionality, the corresponding clause in this document is revised accordingly.
